Baked Honey Miso Chicken Wings

Chicken wings are a weekly feature on our dinner table. Baked, stir fried or braised and sometimes deep fried when the Hubby decides to take over the kitchen on a weekend! =)

Today, I am going to share a Baked Honey Miso Chicken Wings recipe. It is not only tasty, but no washing up required! How awesome is that... Ok ok, maybe just a small bowl and spoon to prepare the marinade, but absolutely no pan to wash after cooking!

I found this recipe from the internet a few years ago, and simply scribbled down the ingredients. My apologies for not being able to provide the source.

Baked Honey Miso Wings (serves 4)

Ingredients:
16 mid wings or drumelettes
1 tablespoon miso paste
1 tablespoon light soya sauce
1 tablespoon water
1/4 cup honey or golden syrup

Method:
  1. Mix miso, soya sauce, water and honey/golden syrup in a bowl till it forms a watery marinade. It is ok to have small lumps from the miso.
  2. Place wings/drumlettes into a bowl or ziploc bag. Pour marinade over the chicken and mix thoroughly so that the chicken is well covered in the marinade.
  3. Marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavour
  4. Pre-heat oven at 200degrees C and bake the chicken for 20-30min. 30 min if you like a nice caramelised colour as above photo. But do be careful to check that the chicken is not chao ta (burnt) =p
  5. Dish out on plate and serve with a bowl of hot steamed rice
Enjoy!

Pics for reference:

Ok to have some lumps

Marinate chicken in ziploc bag for better absorption

Place aluminium foil on tray, followed by a sheet of baking paper so the chicken does not stick

After baking, leave tray to cool, wrap up the foil and it's still clean! Ha Ha! =)
